DFW are an artist group, connected through our shared interest in dowsing for water as an analogy for art practice. Like dowsers, artist's often use a device to discover what they are looking for, whilst the balance of human intuition, theory and chance come into play when making artwork.
We feel that water is a subject analogous to inspiration and also a well worth examining from all angles: geographically, politically, historically, environmentally and more...
Please view DFW's projects for images of their inaugural exhibition in 2012, residency at Kurt Schwitter's Merz Barn 2014 and exhibition at Bristol Biennial 2014. DFW are currently at Nida Art Colony, completing a staggered residency.
Founding members are Alice Vandeleur-Boorer, Amy Hancock-Martin, Azusa Chareteau and Laurie Lax. Collaborators have included Matthew Denniss, Tom Ling, Chloe Penman and Ben Soctrates.
