Dowsing for Water | 01/06/12-16/06/12 | The Salon, Bristol
Our initial project was a collaborative exhibition, which examined water using rhythmic cycles, sensory experiences, digital extractions and historic mapping. We borrowed the idea of immersion as a means to make-work, which was taken literally, metaphorically and as a way to physically envelop the viewer.
The exhibition space was an empty premises in Redcliffe owned by Bristol City Council, leased for free to non-profit organizations. We now refer to it as The Salon as it was previously a beauty salon. It is appropriately located next to the New Cut River, a distinctive man made and tidal water way.
